Structured Cabling System
In order for network systems to work quickly and without problems, the cabling infrastructure must be established properly. In network systems, there is no other interface that is used for as long as the cabling infrastructure. For this reason, when creating the cabling infrastructure, a correct design and project must be made, quality workmanship and materials must be used, testing, labeling and documentation must be carried out in accordance with the standards and used for years. The following points must be observed in any cabling:
- Data cables should be preferred as UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair), STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) or Fiber Optic depending on the environment.
- The data cables used must support standards such as Cat 5, Cat 6, Cat 7.
- According to the architecture, under plaster, under ground, in duct, etc. Data cables delivered to the user's desk must be terminated in a data socket. Data plugs (RJ-45 Connector) should not be attached to the ends of these non-elastic cables. In the center (preferably the system room) where the other ends of the cables are collected, the cables should be terminated in passive devices called Patch Panels.
- Connections between Data Sockets - Computer and Patch Panel - Switch should be made with soft and elastic intermediate cables produced with multi-wire cables, called patch cables.
- In data and telephone cabling projects, the electrical infrastructure must be reviewed. It should be ensured that there is a separate grounding line for computer systems, and that ground voltage levels are within tolerable limits.
